Moon Phased
i.
to shoot for the moon
and to land
among the stars,
isn’t a bad thing, darling,
just keep believing
in yourself.
ii.
song of the wolves
under a silver light,
hugging packs together-
with family
the biggest priority.
iii.
rummaging for food
becomes a task of
finding life within
fresh dust ashes.
iv.
frozen remains
solid as a rock,
trying to push through
bringing life with it,
and colour
to a world grey-washed.
v.
a pink moon
to bring out flowers,
and hues of cherry blossom
short-lived, a trait
the moon knows so well.
vi.
midnight garden
blooms under moonlight only,
in hues of sapphire,
onyx, violet and opal-
coming together
home of fireflies.
vii.
strawberry harvest
found within cotton,
hues of rose and magenta
warming
the night creatures soul.
viii.
thunderous booms
ring out among
the skies, as Thor
raises his hammer,
pale white rays guide
where lightning should hit.
ix.
hues of wrath
shine bright this month,
the colour of blood
reminds of a history
when things weren’t so happy-
and the souls of the fallen
are raised high tonight.
x.
shades of tangerine
guide the ancestors of natives
to collect the harvest,
to the lullaby of
crickets and songs of olde.
xi.
chasing the hunt,
guided by moonlight
running barefoot
within the woods, one
with nature.
xii.
a frost begins to set in
crystalized dew,
marking the beginning
of death,
a kiss to linger
for warmth.
xiii.
temperatures drop
like prom dresses
of those eager to grow up,
and frost continues
to bite at skin revealed
like the annoyance of mosquitos.
xiv.
a rarity,
like a gem
in a coal mine
to be adored by those
who could only hope
to obtain
something equal
in it’s beauty.
xv.
sometimes,
all you need
is to just gaze out
at the full moon-
where wishes are made
as we shoot for them
like shooting stars.
